General Water and Sewer Tap Guidelines
Lake Arrowhead Utility Company provides and maintains water and sanitary sewer service but does not install or repair home owners plumbing. The owner or builder will contact L.A. Utility Co. at (770-345-5411) to make arrangements for the location of the water and sewer tap once the building plans have been approved, if the taps has not been installed.
Sewer tap inspections will be required on all new installations. A $10.00 sewer tap inspections fee is applied to the permit fee. Any re-inspection will be charged the normal fee. No sewer, water, power or certificate of occupancy will be provided until the inspection is approved. Any work covered before inspection must be uncovered for final inspection.
The state construction industry licensing board has ruled that installation of sewer lines on private property fall under the state construction industry licensing board act and requires a state master plumber license for installation work.
An in-line sewer check valve and in-line water pressure reducer must be installed by the property owner on new construction. Upon installation of utiltiy water meter, the monthly water bill will be charged monthly.
Building Permits are obtained From the Cherokee County Building and Inspection Department located in Canton at (770-479-1953). They will require your approval letter and water and sewer tap fee receipt to issue a permit.
